Many building component manufacturers are still unaware of the many opportunities that come from having digital models of their products.
Pandemic times have further accelerated the digitization process for most industries. Remote working became a daily reality for many people and has required the use of digital tools and thus many improvements and automation, including minimizing errors. The situation is similar in the architecture and construction industry. From the survey among architects, more than 50% declare the use of modern technologies and remote working model. Designers value easy access to parameters, good quality models with a small file size, which makes their work faster and more efficient.
Therefore, when modeling the BIM libraries of Access Covers for ATT, we took into account the needs of the individual people involved in the process and created a small file that contains all the necessary information. The digital BIM models allowed us to show parameters such as the material of the covers. In the case of the ATT’s products, this is austenitic stainless steel with the designations AISI3014, EN 1.4301 and AISI316L, EN 1.4404.
Models also have available product dimensions from 400×400 [mm] to 800×2400 [mm].
They also contain information with the possibility to choose the access cover variant between:
- with protective grid
- with ventilation
- with insulation
- with painted/galvanized/stainless steel elevators
This gives the opportunity to make changes directly at the design stage and increases the chances of finalproduct use in the construction project.
An important functionality in creating BIM libraries was ability to verify the necessary space, with the option to display the cover in the closed and open option. This would minimize clashes and the need for costly changes on site.
While modeling digital BIM models for our partners we are open-minded to their needs and comments. Before preparing the libraries we determine together which functionalities will be the most useful and will allow to increase the use of the product in future investments/projects. We know how important is the quality of workmanship so we rely on qualified and experienced staff.
