THE CHALLENGE
hidden microbiological risk

In modern food and pharmaceutical production, maintaining consistent microbiological safety remains a challenge – especially in areas that are difficult to clean. agATT® introduces an active hygiene approach, supporting existing cleaning procedures and strengthening control where it matters most.

Drainage systems as a buffer between dirty and clean zones and hard-to-access zones are among the most critical sources of contamination. Drainage systems represent a critical interface between high-care areas and adjacent zones with high contamination risk. Even with strict cleaning protocols, these areas:

• retain moisture and organic residues
• are difficult to clean effectively
• enable rapid biofilm formation

THE APPROACH - from passive to active hygiene

agATT® - TECHNOLOGY FOR CONTROLLED ANTIMICROBIAL ACTION
The solution combines silver particles immobilised within a mineral CaCO₃ matrix, enabling stable and long-lasting antimicrobial performance.

agATT®-R - COATING THAT PROVIDES CONTINUOUS ACTIVE HYGIENE FOR CRICITAL ZONES
The coating is applied to critical areas by incorporating the additive into resin-based coatings, which are then used to cover surfaces most exposed to microbiological risk, such as drainage edges, siphons and hard-to-access zones. This application method ensures that the coating remains durable and effective over time, even under demanding industrial conditions. This approach ensures targeted protection exactly where contamination is most likely to occur, while maintaining full compatibility with industrial materials and processes.

This enables:
• controlled interaction with microorganisms
• inhibition of bacterial and fungal growth
• reduction of microbial adhesion
• limitation of biofilm formation

It provides:
• continuous antimicrobial action
• support between cleaning cycles
• reinforcement of existing hygiene systems

  • An innovative product in the floor drainage industry
A one-of-a-kind substance that significantly enhances hygiene in critical areas of floor drainage systems.
  • Compatibility

AgATT is fully compatible with current cleaning agents and procedures, without interfering in any way with cleaning processes.

  • Side by side with science

The substance was developed in collaboration with the scientific community of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

  • Safe for environment
Its production is environmentally friendly and completely waste-free. The process generates no effluents and is not energy-intensive.
  • Made in Poland

Production takes place at ATT’s headquarters in Kraków.

  • HACCP

Supports HACCP systems and hygiene standards.

Active hygiene where it matters most

Unlike conventional silver-based solutions, agATT® ensures:
• controlled immobilisation of silver
- no uncontrolled release into the environment
• long-term effectiveness
- sustained performance under industrial conditions
• surface-focused action
- protection exactly where contamination risk occurs
• material compatibility
- suitable for industrial coatings and infrastructure

AREAS OF APPLICATION
designed for critical hygiene zones

agATT®-R is applied in areas most exposed to microbiological risk:• drainage systems (channels, edges, siphons)
• levelling feet and floor anchoring components
(structure-to-floor interface)
• floor-to-drain interfaces
• humid and confined zones
• surfaces exposed to organic residuesagATT®-R is applied on the drainage edge, the internal part of the siphon, and beneath levelling feet anchoring structures to the floor.33

BUSINESS VALUE - operational impact

agATT®-R delivers measurable benefits:

• reduced contamination risk
• lower probability of production downtime
• improved audit readiness and compliance
• reduced need for intensive cleaning procedures

ALIGNMENT WITH STANDARDS - supporting EHEDG principles

agATT® complements hygienic design by addressing real operational gaps, in line with EHEDG guidelines, particularly EHEDG Doc. 44 (Hygienic Design Principles for Food Factories).

It supports key EHEDG principles such as:

• control of critical zones, including drainage systems
• limitation of microbial growth between cleaning cycles
• prevention of biofilm formation

While hygienic design focuses on cleanability and the elimination of retention areas, agATT® enhances microbiological control directly at the surface level, providing additional protection in areas where full cleanability is difficult to achieve.

Testing confirms that agATT®:
• inhibits bacterial and fungal growth
• prevents colonisation of treated surfaces
• creates an active antimicrobial barrier
